Personal life

In 2006, Panettiere began dating Stephen Colletti, the former Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, star.[21] The couple broke up in September 2007.[22] In December 2007, it was widely reported that she was dating her Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia,[23][24] though Panettiere denied these reports in an interview with GQ.[25] These reports continued through the early part of 2008,[26][27] and several sources had reported that she asked Ventimiglia to move in with her.[28][29][30] In April 2008, during an interview on the BBC's The Chris Moyles Show to promote the second season of Heroes, Ventimiglia confirmed that he is dating Panettiere.[31]

[edit] Activism
On October 31, 2007, Panettiere joined with Sea Shepherd to try to disrupt the annual dolphin hunt in Taiji, Wakayama, Japan. She was involved in a confrontation between Japanese fishermen and five other surfers from Australia and the United States (including former Home and Away star Isabel Lucas) of the group. The confrontation lasted more than ten minutes before the surfers were forced to return to the beach, after which they left the country.[32] The fishermen consider the condemnation as an attack on their culture.[33]

Panettiere told E! News that an arrest warrant has been issued in Japan for her interference in the dolphin hunt but her claim was later dismissed as not true by the Japanese Fisheries Agency.[34][35] In November 2007, she was awarded the "Compassion in Action Award" from the animal rights group PETA for her efforts to stop the dolphin hunt in Japan.[36] She is also a vegetarian.[37][38] Her activism was, however, criticized by most of the Japanese media since the public regarded this as an offense to their culture (see Taiji, Wakayama for details).

On January 28, 2008, Panettiere handed a letter of protest to the Norwegian ambassador in the United States arguing that Norway should stop its hunt for whales. She also delivered a letter to the Japanese ambassador calling for the end of Japan's hunting of whales.

In 2007, Panettiere became an official supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities and is a member of their celebrity board, called the Friends of RMHC.[39]

In May 2008, Panettiere was involved in an eBay auction to benefit SaveTheWhalesAgain.com. The auction included tickets to a fundraising dinner hosted at the Hollywood restaurant Beso, owned by Eva Longoria Parker, and a whale watching tour, with Panettiere, off the coast of Santa Barbara.[40] The same month, during an interview with Teen Vogue, Hayden explained how her fame gives her a platform for her activism: "The show [Heroes] put me in a place to speak for things that I'm passionate about."[41]

In October 2008, Panettiere delved into the activities of the presidential election. Panettiere released a public service announcement through the website Funny or Die. In this video Panettiere mocks John McCain in a satirical tone on the subjects of his age and anger.[42] She subsequently made clear her intention to vote for Barack Obama, and urged other young people to vote.[43]

Career

Actress
Panettiere began modeling at the age of four months. She then began appearing in commercials at 11 months, first appearing in an advertisement for Playskool.[7] She landed a role as Sarah Roberts on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live (1994-1997) and later as Lizzie Spaulding on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light (1996-2000). While on Guiding Light, Panettiere's character Lizzie battled leukemia, for which the show received a Special Recognition Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for bringing national awareness of the disease to the attention of daytime viewers.[8]

Panettiere appears as Claire Bennet in the NBC series Heroes as a high school cheerleader with regenerative healing powers. Due to her role on Heroes, she became a regular on the science fiction convention circuit, invited to attend conventions around the world in 2007, including GenCon, New York Comic-Con and Fan Expo Canada. In regard to the roles she has played, Panettiere admitted that options are sometimes limited because "people look at [her] as either the 'popular cheerleader' type or just 'the blonde'."[9]

Panettiere at Comic-Con 2008She has appeared in over a dozen full-length feature films, several made-for-TV movies and provided the voice for Dot in A Bug's Life.[10] She played the role of Coach Yoast's daughter, Sheryl, in the 2000 Disney film Remember The Titans. In addition, she voiced Kairi in the Kingdom Hearts series of video games for the PlayStation 2. Panettiere appeared on FOX's Ally McBeal as Ally McBeal's daughter, and had a recurring guest role on Malcolm in the Middle and guest starred in Law & Order: SVU. She starred in Bring It On: All or Nothing as a cheerleader and had a supporting role as Adelaide Bourbon in the recently released independent film Shanghai Kiss. She appeared in the Disney Channel film Tiger Cruise, playing the main role of a Navy brat and in Raising Helen, as the adolescent niece.

She appeared in the drama film Fireflies in the Garden as a younger version of Emily Watson's character, Jane Lawrence. In June 2007, she signed with the William Morris Agency, after previously being represented by United Talent Agency.[11] Forbes estimated that she earned $2 million in 2007.[12]

In early 2007, Panettiere appeared on the syndicated Ashton Kutcher-produced show, Punk'd. The appearance was engineered by her mother and involved a male "fan" discussing her work with her, instigating a jealous reaction from the man's spouse. In December 2007 Panettiere was named GQ Magazine's Obsession Of the Year.

In September 2008, Panettiere appeared in a PSA satire video on funnyordie.com entitled "Hayden Panettiere PSA: Your Vote, Your Choice".[13]

In October, Hayden debuted another satirical PSA video on funnyordie.com entitled "Vote for McCain: He's just like George Bush, except older and with a worse temper".[14]

Panettiere will star in the teenage comedy Daydream Nation, written and to be directed by Michael Goldbach.[15]

[edit] Singer
Panettiere was nominated for a Grammy in 1999 for A Bug's Life Read-Along [2000].[16] She recorded a song called "My Hero Is You" with a video for the Disney Channel movie she starred in, Tiger Cruise. She recorded a song titled "I Fly" for the Disney movie Ice Princess she co-starred in. She recorded a song for the compilation Girlnext and another song for Girlnext 2. She also recorded a cover for DisneyMania 5. She recorded a song titled "Try" for the 2007 Bridge to Terabithia soundtrack and a ballad called "I Still Believe" for Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

Panettiere's first single, Wake Up Call was digitally released on August 5 with Candie's premiering an ad campaign for the single in late July. Candie's will also provide additional promotion for the single with a television advertisement and a music video.[17]

[edit] Endorsement
In late 2006, Neutrogena made Panettiere the cover girl for their new worldwide ad campaign;[18] following in the footsteps of actresses Kristin Kreuk, Josie Bissett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mandy Moore, Mischa Barton, Gabrielle Union and Jennifer Freeman.

In September 2007, Panettiere appeared in a Heroes-themed Got Milk? ad photographed by Annie Leibovitz.[19]

In February 2008, Kohl's announced that Panettiere would be their next Candie's spokesperson. She will be following the likes of Fergie, Hilary Duff, and Kelly Clarkson.[20

Hayden goes for Cupcakes

I have added some cute candids of Hayden buying cupcakes yesterday, also some older candids of Hayden leaving a nightclub with two girlfriends. Plus some HD Screen Captures from Episode 3 of Heroes...
Hayden Leslie Panettiere was born on 21st August 1989 in Palisades, New York. Hayden still lives with her parents Lesley & Skip and younger brother Jansen, but is soon moving out to live with her boyfriend (Heroes co-star) Milo Ventimiglia. Her mom, Lesley got Hayden started in the business by doing commercials when she was just 11 months old. Then at only 4 1/2 she was cast on the soap opera One Life To Live, where she remained until 1997. Since then, she has gone on to appear in many feature films and TV movies. Before Heroes Hayden was probably best known in the United States for her role as Lizzie Spaulding, whom she has portrayed since 1996, on the daytime drama Guiding Light.

Hayden has starred in Remember the Titans with Denzil Washington and Joe Somebody with Tim Allen. Hayden grew up in a suburb of New York City with her parents, younger brother, Jansen, and a houseful of animals. She recently made the move to Los Angeles because her role in Heroes demands her to be on set filming almost all week. When Hayden isn't working, she enjoys hanging with her friends, singing, dancing, equestrian, volleyball, and has even tried her hand in surfing!

Hayden has been involved with many animated movies, beginning with A Bug's Life (as Dot), later to follow was Dinosaur. Kingdom Hearts and The Mark of Kri, were also voice overs but for Playstation 2 Video Games. Hayden then joined the likes of Jessica Lang, Tom Wilkinson, Jane Anderson and Clacy Brown in Normal the movie about a midwestern husband and father that announces his plans to have a sex change operation, the movie made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. Also in July 2003

Hayden appeared in a John Guare play called, "Landscape of the Body", for the Williams town theatre festival, in Williamstown Massachusetts. Raising Helen co-staring with Kate Hudson, was a big hit for Hayden, opening the eyes of many young teenagers. The Dust Factory where she has the star lead as Melanie Lewis, Tiger Cruise co-staring Bill Pullman a movie based on the September 11th events did well as a tv movies. Hayden sang the movie theme song for the movie.

Racing Stripes has also been great for Hayden internationally. The movie was a big success for not just kids but adults too. Hayden recently released Disney's Ice princess co-staring Michelle Trachtenberg, which made it to number 3 at the box office. Shortly after the TV Movie, Lies My Mother Told Me was released on Lifetime Television, Hayden co-stared with Joely Richardson.

More recently, Hayden starred in the independent film The Architect opposite Anthony LaPaglia and Isabella Rosselini which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Mr. Gibb for Kevin Spacey's company, Triggerstreet. Hayden then landed the lead in teen movie Bring it On: All or Nothing, the sequel to Universal's box office hit. Hayden plays the young love of Asian-American actor Ken Leung in the upcoming romantic comedy Shanghai Kiss which sadly is a straight to DVD movie.

Of course now, across the globe Hayden is knownas Claire Bennet, a high school cheerleader in Odessa, Texas, who learns through trial-and-error that her flesh is indestructible. Heroes follows the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. This show has been a huge success and Hayden has signed on for a 6 year contract.

Among other projects, Hayden is the face of Neutrogena and is actively involved with the Save The Whales Campaign. As part of the latest deal linking its teen clothing line to a young female music act, fashion brand Candie's will help promote the song "Wake Up Call" from "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere's forthcoming album from Hollywood Records, due out in 2009.

October 2008 will see the release of her latest film project Fireflies In The Garden, staring Julia Roberts. Hayden recently finished filming I Love You Beth Cooper in Vancover. The film is based on bestselling novel by Larry Doyle. Next in line she will be filming Alpha and Omega with Christina Ricci and Dennis Hopper due for a 2010 release.

Don't mess with Hayden

Don't mess with Hayden

Jack Coleman has warned paparazzi not to mess with his on-screen daughter Hayden Panettiere. Heroes actor Jack admitted he gets just as protective of Hayden in real life as his character Noah Bennet is of her character Claire on the show.

As the cast received the Hollywood Legacy Community award at the Esquire House in Los Angeles, Jack didn't mince his words when it came to speaking about the 19-year-old: "Yeah, I'm very protective of her.

"She's in the spotlight, it's a tough position she's in and she handles it with incredible grace, much more so than I would." He jokingly added: "I'd be decking people left and right if they talked to me the way they talk to her."

The actor had a few damning words for the tabloids: "It's not a secret the way the publicity game is set up, it's completely obsessed with young women or girls and the idea is to basically destroy them."

Jack also explained how some of the pap attention Hayden has to endure is beyond belief: "It's predatory, it really is and it's amazing to watch".

Hayden has also praised celebrities for getting involved in the upcoming U.S. presidential election - insisting their influence has brought politics to a new generation.

The campaign has been littered with celebrity endorsements, with stars including Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Jay-Z, Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson all encouraging young people to cast their votes. And 19-year-old Panettiere is convinced that all of the extra publicity has been a great help to both candidates.

She says, "One of the major reasons why, especially young people, have come out and done so much to play a part in this election - and who are really getting out there and voting this time around - is because of the celebrity endorsements, because of how popular this election has become, and how much in the news, and how much it's taken over, you know, our society.”
